KEYENCE LV‑S62 is a parallel light area retro‑reflective sensor head for the LV‑N series digital laser sensor system. It emits a broad, sheet‑like parallel light beam instead of a pinpoint spot, delivering stable detection of transparent objects (glass, bottles, films), parts with small gaps or steps, and workpieces prone to beam misalignment due to vibration or temperature drift.
A high‑frequency superposition laser drive circuit suppresses intensity variations caused by microscopic tilts of transparent targets (e.g., submicron changes in glass thickness). This provides consistent received light levels across a wide wavelength range, eliminating detection fluctuations due to workpiece transparency variations. Class 1 laser product (FDA/IEC) rated for eye safety during normal operation.
Applications:
-
Transparent object detection (glass substrates, plastic bottles, clear films, vials)
-
Detection of small gaps, steps, or holes on parts surfaces
-
Parts presence and position verification on conveyors and assembly lines
-
Material handling, pharmaceutical, and food & beverage packaging systems
-
Electronics and semiconductor manufacturing (wafer, PCB positioning)
-
Long‑distance object detection requiring wide beam coverage

-
The sensor head mounts using the above dedicated brackets. All optional brackets allow transverse and vertical optical axis adjustment, simplifying alignment.
Compatibility & System Integration:
-
This sensor head belongs to the KEYENCE LV‑N series digital laser sensor system.
-
Must be used with LV‑N series amplifiers whose model number ends with B or BP (e.g., LV‑11SB, LV‑12SB, LV‑11SBP, LV‑12SBP).
-
In multi‑amplifier configurations, units must be installed on a metal DIN rail; total system current should not exceed 20 mA.
-
Up to 16 amplifier expansion units can be connected to a main unit; ambient temperature limits depend on the number of connected units.
