Mitsubishi Electric FX5‑ENET/IP is a smart EtherNet/IP communication module for the MELSEC iQ‑F series. When installed, it adds high-speed, large-volume data exchange via a 100 Mbps Ethernet interface. The module supports all standard EtherNet/IP functions (Class 1, Class 3, UCMM) and can operate as a Scanner (master) in an EtherNet/IP network. It also supports general‑purpose Ethernet services, including SLMP server, Socket communication, and Simple CPU communication, making the FX5 series suitable for advanced factory automation systems.

Applications:

  • Real‑time data exchange between multiple FX5 controllers (factory Ethernet backbone)

  • Connection of FX5‑series PLCs as an adapter to an existing EtherNet/IP network

  • High‑speed interlocking between controllers, remote I/O, drives, and robots using Class1 cyclic communications

System Integration:

Scheduled for end of life. Order acceptance will end in December 2026, and production will be discontinued by March 2027. The recommended replacement is the FX5‑EIP EtherNet/IP module; however, note that FX5‑EIP does not support Simple CPU communication or BACnet/IP.
