SICK KT5W-2P1116 contrast sensor (contrast scanner) is used for optical, non‑contact detection of contrast marks. It automatically selects the optimum emitted light from a three‑colour RGB LED (630 nm, 525 nm, 470 nm) for a contrast mark, reliably detecting fine grey‑scale differences of less than 1.5 ΔE on high‑gloss materials. A rectangular 30.4 mm × 53 mm × 80 mm metal housing carries IP67 environmental protection and a 10 kHz switching rate supports high‑throughput material handling tasks. The sensor provides a PNP switching output (normally open/toggle‑selectable) and can be set via teach‑in pushbuttons (two‑point static teach‑in) without additional tools.
