The Siemens 6ES7315‑2EH14‑0AB0 is a SIMATIC S7‑300 CPU 315‑2 PN/DP, designed for distributed automation where both centralised I/O and PROFINET/DP networks are required. Powered by 24 V DC, this CPU handles medium program size and can be used as a PROFINET IO controller, as a PROFIBUS DP master, or as distributed intelligence slave. It provides 384 KB of integrated work memory and supports a Micro Memory Card (MMC) for load memory expansion, making it suitable for installation upgrades and replacement of older 315‑2 PN/DP models.

This CPU is also ideally suited for integration into a PROFINET IO system and for use in a distributed automation architecture, e.g. as IO controller or as both PROFINET IO device and PROFIBUS DP master. The 2‑port switch of the integrated PROFINET interface enables a line topology without additional external switches.
